Center for Evidence-Based Social Science Studies and Center for Afghanistan Studies of Lanzhou University Were Enlisted in Source Think Tank of CTTI

On Dec. 22, the “2018 Summit on Chinese Think Tank Governance and Communication of Ideas and Theories”, jointly hosted by Nanjing University and Guangming Daily, was held in Nanjing Municipality, Jiangsu Province. China Think Tank Research and Evaluation Center of Nanjing University and Think Tank Research and Release Center of Guangming Daily jointly issued the supplementary list of 2018 CTTI source, on which Center for Evidence-Based Social Science Studies and Center for Afghanistan Studies of Lanzhou University could be found.

On the awarding ceremony for newly-enlisted source Think Tank, professor Yang Kehu, director of Center for Evidence-Based Social Science Studies of Lanzhou University received medals and certificates as a representative of newly-enlisted source Think Tank. On the academic forum, Wei Zhipeng, teammate of Center for Evidence-Based Social Science Studies of Lanzhou University and executive deputy editor of Library and Information, was invited to give a report under the title of Think Tank Construction and Practice, Based on Evidence-Based Science, by which he briefed the work and outcomes of our university’s Center for Evidence-Based Social Science Studies. Professor Liu Rongxing, dean of School of Public Health of Lanzhou University, professor Ding Guowu, director of Institute of Social Medicine and Health Administration, Dr. Li Xiuxia and Dr. Bing Zhitong from Center for Evidence-Based Social Science Studies and associate professor Zhu Yongbiao, director of Center for Afghanistan Studies of Lanzhou University were invited to be part of this forum.

After the inclusion of Center for Evidence-Based Social Science Studies and Center for Afghanistan Studies of Lanzhou University in the CTTI source Think Tank, six think tanks of LZU are listed as CTTI source Think Tanks now ( the others are Center for Western Asian Studies, Research Center of Silk Road Economic Belt Construction, Research Center for Performance Management of Chinese Government and Center for Studies of Ethnic Minorities in Northwest China of LZU).

It is reported that lots of procedures has been gone through in selecting new think tanks, from recommendation from administrative department of Think Tank, university application, Think Tank research and management experts review, filling information online to level-by-level verification, after which 105 think tanks were elected out of more than 400 ones. By far, CTTI has included 706 think thank institutes, recruited 11992 experts, held 17878 activities and yielded 115421 outcomes.
